Terms of Service

Outside Blueprint (outsideblueprint.com) is a browser-based tool for designing decks, sheds, garages, pole barns, and patio covers in 3D. Designing is free. For a one-time payment of $19per design you can unlock that design's itemized shopping list, local price estimates, and step-by-step build guide (the “unlock”).

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. “We”, “us”, and “Outside Blueprint” mean the operator of outsideblueprint.com.

Framing sizes, spans, footing counts, material quantities, and build steps are generated automatically from published span tables and prescriptive guides (for example the American Wood Council's DCA 6 deck construction guide) using the dimensions and options you enter. They are a starting point for planning and budgeting. They have not been checked by an engineer, architect, or building official for your site, your soil, your snow and wind loads, or your local amendments.

You are responsible forverifying the design against your locally adopted building code, obtaining any required permits, scheduling and passing inspections, and hiring a licensed design professional or contractor where your jurisdiction requires one or where the project calls for it. If anything in the output conflicts with your local code or an inspector's direction, the code and the inspector win.

Price estimates are regional approximations and will differ from what your supplier actually charges. Quantities include modest waste allowances, but confirm them before ordering.

• Designing is free, with no account, for as many projects as you like.
• An unlock applies to one design. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and there is no automatic renewal.
• If you keep editing an unlocked design, the list and guide update at no extra charge as long as the edit is a continuation of that design. Starting a materially different project is a new design and needs its own unlock.
• Payment is handled by Stripe on Stripe's hosted checkout page. We never see or store your card number.
• Prices are in US dollars and may change. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.

After a successful payment we email you a permanent link that opens your design with the list and guide unlocked. That link is your proof of purchase and your way back in on any device. Keep it; anyone who has the link can open the unlocked design. You can also use “Sign in” on the home page to have a restore link sent to the email you used at checkout.

A full refund or a payment dispute revokes access to that design's list and guide, including any edits that inherited the purchase. See the Refund Policy.

Unlocked lists, guides, drawings, and exports are for planning and building your own project, or a project you are building for a client. You may print them, share them with your supplier, contractor, or building department, and keep them for as long as you like.

Please do not resell the output as a product, present it as an engineered or stamped drawing, scrape or bulk-download the site, attempt to forge or bypass unlock tokens, or use the site in a way that interferes with it working for other people.

The site and its output are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or that the site will be available without interruption. Building is inherently risky. You use the output at your own risk and judgement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Outside Blueprint is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for property damage, personal injury, failed inspections, rework, or lost time arising from use of the site or its output. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the amount you paid us for the unlock in question. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

How we handle your email, payment, and browser data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

We may change the site, its features, or its prices at any time, and we may update these terms. The “last updated” date at the top tells you when. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. Unlocks you have already paid for keep working under the terms in effect when you bought them.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Outside Blueprint is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of that state.
